This year on March 4, show your support by donating on Giving Day to Tehama Group Communications, CSU Chico’s student run PR firm.

“PR people are storytellers. They create narratives to advance their agenda.” – Robert Wynne

Giving Day is an event that happens annually at CSU Chico that is meant to help connect current students, faculty and staff with the Chico community, alumni, friends and family. The day is utilized to help encourage donations and support to any group, program or department at CSU Chico.

Tehama Group Communications represents the students of the future of PR. As a student-run PR agency the members of TGC work with real clients, and create professional work including rebranding, story writing, photography and graphic design. The work created at TGC  would not be able to be at the professional level it is without the help received from Giving Day.

“PR people are storytellers. They create narratives to advance their agenda.  PR can be used to protect, enhance or build reputations through the media, social media, or self-produced communications.  A good PR practitioner will analyze the organization, find the positive messages and translate those messages into positive stories.  When the news is bad, they can formulate the best response and mitigate the damage.” – Forbes

This year TGC hopes to raise over $5,000 to help support the agency and all the benefits it brings students. This money goes towards professional technology and equipment, site visits to alumni and big PR companies in major cities, and office supplies to help the agency run efficiently every day. The link for TGC’s donation page is up now, and any contribution will help us prepare for our future!
